Recognize and embrace the three aspects of You—Mind, Body and Spirit. Each aspects of You has a goal that is important for your overall well-being:

Body – survival and comfort


Mind – thinking and being right


Spirit – vision and communion

The delicate balance of these three aspects is best illustrated with an isosceles triangle. The isosceles triangle is an ideal shape to demonstrate how the 3 aspects of human nature are profoundly related and there is only one way to achieve true balance and peace. Understanding the purpose and mission of our 3 aspects is critical – described below:

When you are being led by the body, your wants and needs will appear to be your highest priority and it may feel as though you were going backwards and others are racing ahead.

When you are being led by the mind, your main focus will be on your opinions and trying to be “right”. Your ego will be delighted as it will appear as though you are speeding ahead of others.

When you are being led by the spirit you will feel a deep joy, a sense of unshakable balance and a profound relatedness with others.

Balance & Joy Exercise:


Start the process of achieving your own personal balance and joy by asking these questions:

BODY—How do I feel? Am I taking the best care of myself and my energy?

MIND—What do I think? Am I making the right and best decisions for me and my life?

SPIRIT—What is the pure possible of my life? Am I sharing my gifts with others?
